Sage is one of the leading global suppliers of business management software to small and medium-sized businesses (”SME”). We have over 6.1 million customers and offices in 24 countries around the world with over 13,400 employees.
Sage was founded in Newcastle, northern England in 1981. We entered the US market in 1991, followed by Europe in 1992. In 2001, our operations extended to Australia and, in 2003, to South Africa. Since 2005, we have built up operations in India and the Far East, including Malaysia, Singapore and China. Over 80% of our revenues are now generated outside our home market in the UK.
Global presence in 24 countries
Sage has four regional operating companies managing day-to-day business: UK & Ireland, Mainland Europe, North America, and Rest of World (South Africa, Australia and Asia). With our strategic focus on developing products tailored to our local markets, all business functions such as research and development, sales and marketing and service support are organised by our regional companies.
